January Antlergram Robert Hall Exalted Ruler Dear Members, Welcome back out Snowbirds and Elks from the North. Lodge activities are now in full swing, Wednesday, and Friday dinners, Sunday cookouts on the patio, and now being contemplated, an Italian Night on Saturdays. Also afternoon lunches are being discussed. We also have special functions like the Valentines Dinner Dance, Feb. 13th, and St. Patrick's Day Celebration, March 17th. Tommy is also planning the Annual Duck Races, and Pig Roast, more on this when dates are confirmed. We need all of you to support these functions, a lot ot hard work goes into putting on these affairs, and the Lodge benefits greatly, Details posted in lounge on all events. We could still use volunteers tor our Fri. Dinners, anti our Sunday cookouts. Not only will you be helping us, you will also have fun, and get to rneet many fun Elks. If you can help, call Bill Eldridge 460-7784 or Dick Swetel 360-2232. This year we had a record 437 girls and boys compete in the Elks Hoop Shoot Program. We have such an outstanding program, thanks to all the hard work of the Hoop Shoot Chairman, Brett Volland. Great Job Brett! Hopefully, by tile time of this printing, our renovation will be in full swing. We also have many great ideas, which we would like to share with all of you, and would also welcome your input. Once again it is time to elect Officers for the coming Lodge year. Please attend our Lodge meetings in February to nominate and elect new officers. Nominations will be open at the Feb. 10th meet¬ing, which is also Past Exalted Ruler's night. Nominations and Elections will be held at the February 34th meeting. Please come and elect your new officersThere are many pleasures that being an Exalted Ruler have, and this has to be one of them. It gives me great pride and pleasure to announce to all of you that the committees have met and selected Brett Volland as Holiday Isles Lodge # 1912 "Elk of the Year" and have selected Bob Pitney as our "Officer of the Year" These outstanding Elks have worked extremely hard to make our Lodge more efficient, and to make us all proud to be Elks. Brett Volland is a teacher at Madeira Beach Middle School. He has been Chairman of our Great Hoop Shoot Program for the past 10 years. He is also our liaison between the schools tor our youth. Bob Pitney is our Loyal Knight, and a man who does not have "no" in his vocabulary. Whatever the project, wherever any help is needed, you will find Bob. Congratulations to two very deserving Elks. On the flip side, and not much of a pleasure, I have to report that on January 5th, our Lodge was found to be in violation of the Florida no smoking law. We have no choice other than to comply with this citation. Thanks you for all your support, I know we can make ouf road smooth again with all your help, and all of us working together . Fraternally yours, Robert Hall Exalted Ruler - EXALTED RULER'S REGONITION CORNER Thank you to Dick Swetel for perserving with the Insurance Company about our claims due to our dammage lo the Lodge.
